When I found out my position was being cut, my focus changed in last semester’s Touro classes. I found myself looking through a different lens and started making a list of tools that would help in a combination class. I don’t want to use technology tools as a time filler. I want technology to have meaning and purpose for my students. As much as I see myself integrating the two grade levels, there will be times when I need to focus on specific grade level standards. During that time, my goal is have set up meaningful lessons and projects for my students to work on. This is why my driving question has changed from, “What affect does a technology tool have on student engagement? to “How can I increase literacy skills through the implementation of Google Classroom?” After last semester’s introduction to Google Classroom and all the tools that can be implemented within it, I decided to put more focus into my driving question. My goal is to find the tools that can be integrated with Google Classroom that will focus on literacy skills.
I am hopeful to continue sharing ideas with my fellow cohort members. I find my cohorts to be very supportive and give feedback that is meaningful and influential in assisting me with developing curriculum that is thoughtful and engaging.
